Mandatory reporting of suspected abuse:
In North Carolina, where the founders of See the Triumph are based, all adults are mandatory reporters of abuse to children and elderly or disabled adults. This means that if you tell us via any See the Triumph-related communications (including, but not limited to, e-mail, Facebook posting, and/or Facebook and/or blog commenting) about situations in which a child, elderly adult, or disabled adult may have experienced or witnessed abuse, we may be required to report this information to the appropriate social services agency. Examples of child, elder, or disabled abuse may include frequent yelling, bullying, or threatening as well as physical harm or injury. Even if a child is not directly injured, but observes his or her parents engaged in domestic violence, this could be considered a form of child neglect and may need to be reported to the appropriate authorities. An obligation to report suspected abuse and neglect may apply to past and present abuse by anyone, including yourself or a third party.
